One of the main the main lesson I have gained from the two scholarly sources is that effective leadership involves showcasing high level of emotional awareness or emotional intelligence. I have also learned that leaders with charismatic and inclusive behaviors create a healthy work environment that allows everyone to succeed. Leadership requires a deep level of understanding and connection with the people one is leading and overseeing, making emotional intelligence an essential quality for successful leadership (Efimov et al., 2020). Research has shown that leaders possessing a high level of emotional awareness benefit from better relationships amongst their employees, as well as increased performance and productivity (Bannay et al., 2020). They also demonstrate more inspiring, innovative, and fair behavior which in turn creates a healthier work environment. Not only does this prove beneficial to the team dynamics but it can motivate individual employees to perform at a higher level (Vidman & Strömberg, 2020). This insight highlights the importance of having leaders with strong emotional intelligence who can make sound decisions based on their understanding of interpersonal relationships in the workplace.
One instance where I have seen emotional intelligence and inclusive leadership behaviors in practice was at a team-building workshop organized by the company I used to work for. The facilitator employed creative techniques to encourage open communication among employees of varying positions and seniority levels. In particular, they shared the importance of valuing and respecting different viewpoints, which provided a safe environment for all participants to share without fear of judgement. For example, the facilitator encouraged everyone to introduce themselves with a personal fact; this succeeded in fostered an atmosphere of understanding and unity between attendees. Undoubtedly, it was a powerful illustration of how effective emotional intelligence is when it comes to creating an inclusive working environment.
The emotional intelligence and inclusive leadership behaviors discussed in the workshop were all highly beneficial for company operations. The workshop was effective in bridging any gaps between employees from different departments, ages or seniority, leading to improved collaboration and better team results. Furthermore, the welcoming work atmosphere created by these practices promoted a high level of respect amongst colleagues no matter their background or position, thus raising morale and fostering job satisfaction. All in all, these leadership behaviors are essential for companies looking to reap the rewards of a strong, unified and successful team.

LEADERSHIP THEORIES IN PRACTICE
A walk through the Business section of any bookstore or a quick Internet search on the topic will reveal a seemingly endless supply of writings on leadership. Formal research literature is also teeming with volumes on the subject.
However, your own observation and experiences may suggest these theories are not always so easily found in practice. Not that the potential isn’t there; current evidence suggests that leadership factors such as emotional intelligence and transformational leadership behaviors, for example, can be highly effective for leading nurses and organizations.
Yet, how well are these theories put to practice? In this Discussion, you will examine formal leadership theories. You will compare these theories to behaviors you have observed firsthand and discuss their effectiveness in impacting your organization.
