Data from patient satisfaction demonstrates the outcome measures and level of success of service delivery. Unplanned readmission rates at two different hospitals demonstrate low levels of patient satisfaction and outcome measures (Chen et al., 2020). While there are different ways of presenting collected data from outcome measures on unplanned readmission rates, it is essential for providers to select a framework that caters for the variance that may exist in these two institutions. The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey is a standard framework that measures patient’s level of satisfaction. I would deploy the model to collect data since a host of unplanned readmissions lead to unsatisfied patients. Patients return unexpectedly since they failed to get appropriate discharge information and education; leading to an influx of increased rates of readmissions.

The information that I would have in the collected data will entail ways of collecting the data. The study would be retrospective and cross-sectional in nature to assess the patients treated at the two facilities. These patients would receive and return the HCAHPS survey. Higher levels of satisfaction demonstrate reduced mortality and appropriate adherence to the set practice guidelines (Levin et al., 2018). These levels also indicate reduced use of healthcare, enhanced patient status during their discharge and corresponding decline in potential adverse events that can lead to civil suits against the physicians and other healthcare workers (Upadhyay et al., 2018). The HCAHPS survey offers valuable data concerning different areas of organizational performance. The scores from patients on the framework are impacted by different factors which the two facilities can use to enhance quality of care and patient satisfaction rates.
