WK 5 DQ 2 Nursing Education
Different physical and non-physical learning environments exist in nursing. These include classroom setting, online or digital learning, skills and simulation laboratories, and clinical or practice setting. These learning environments help facilitate learning and also have challenges. A core aspect of a positive learning environment is to keep students engaged in what one is teaching and this implores the faculty member or educator to use certain strategies (Arkan et al., 2018). The first strategy is to cooperate with students through the concept of cooperative learning. Under this strategy, teams of learners work on assignments and tasks that are essential to the coursework. Cooperative learning promotes active and reflective learning aside from enhancing teamwork among students. This approach is useful and effective in the classroom and online environments.

The second strategy is the use of case studies to promote positive learning. Through case studies, students get an in-depth analysis of practical situations in real life and practice that justifies and promotes as well as illustrates the content in class (Billings & Halstead, 2020). This allows students to generate problem solving skills and apply the case studies to patient care. It is also important in any learning setting. The third strategy is demonstration or illustration where students show their learning outcomes using projects, simulation, and other aspects of showcasing. Through this approach, students gain understanding and nurture effective skills in different environments. The strategy is also effective in different learning environments. Teaching as a strategy means that nurse educators develop the required content to offer a more deliberate approach to improve delivery of content to learners and help improve the overall intake of content offered. The implication is that all these strategies are useful based on their deployment in the right or correct learning sphere or environment.
